I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with my husband, a tween boy, four cats, a chiweenie, 108 house plants, and possibly others too small to notice. I teach art history and art appreciation at Ivy Tech Community College and do freelance teaching of art to people of all ages all over the Midwest. One of my many other day jobs is being the owner of Cat People Press.
My work explores contemporary social issues through narrative illustration; issues that interest me include feminism, social justice, sustainability, and environmentalism. I often use nature imagery as a springboard for exploring these ideas, especially the natural flora and fauna of the Midwest. As well, I enjoy using imagery from popular culture for reference and for the sake of humor.
